Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Straughn Tigers walked away with it. They breezed by the Eagles at home to the tune of 65-16 on Friday. Straughn's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Straughn found their leader in underclassman Allyx Williamson, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williamson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ora Hall, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and six steals.
Straughn is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. As for Providence Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-9.
Straughn will take on New Brockton at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with New Brockton sitting on 11 straight victories and Straughn on four. Providence Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
