Kylie Gingras made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Camdin Shelton was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Haley Carter, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.
Erwin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .419 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask T.C. Roberson). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Asheville a 14-0 shutout on Friday. The Rams not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 22, 2024.
Like Erwin, T.C. Roberson also got a great game from a two-way player: Aniyah Davis. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Davis was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Jorgia McMinn and Ellie Tomlinson did most of the damage at the plate: McMinn scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3, while Tomlinson scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Skylar Gribben was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-2.
T.C. Roberson's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Erwin, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
T.C. Roberson's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Erwin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. It's a different story for T.C. Roberson, though, as they've only averaged .308. Will they be able to contain Erwin's hitters?
