The Elkhart Lions won the last time they faced the New Prairie Cougars, and things went their way on Thursday too. Elkhart took down the Cougars 45-26. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Elkhart has managed all season.
Despite the defeat, New Prairie had strong showings from Brody Wiginton, who scored ten points, and Trenton Klute, who scored four points.
Elkhart's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-16. As for New Prairie, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elkhart will take on the Colonials at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Prairie, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Bearcats at 12:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Wheeler is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
