The Oakmont Vikings will venture away from home to  take on the Mira Loma Matadors  at 7:15  p.m.  on Friday. Oakmont is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 28.7  points per game  this season.

 It was another big night for  Beau Ogles, who threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 50 yards. 180 of those passing yards were hauled in by Jayden Beasley, who also brought in a  receiving touchdown.
 Oakmont didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Kendall Barber and  Elijah Hunt. Oakmont got some further help from  Mac Hughes: he made 13 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended a pass.
 Meanwhile, Mira Loma was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They were dealt  a  49-0 defeat at the hands of Wheatland. While losing is never fun, the Matadors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' California football rankings  (they are ranked 978th, while the Pirates are ranked 382nd).
 Oakmont is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record  this season. As for Mira Loma, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
