This season hasn't been kind to the Oak Hill Academy Raiders, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They took a 87-70 bruising from Choctaw County on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did back in November (57), Oak Hill Academy still had to take the loss.
Caleb Cunningham was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 38 points and ten rebounds for Choctaw County. The contest was Cunningham's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Treyvionne Woodard was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with three steals.
Oak Hill Academy bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Choctaw County, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Hill Academy is on the road again on Friday and play against East Union at 10:15 a.m. on December 29th. East Union has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Choctaw County will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Pillow Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Pillow Academy is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
