The Franklin Regional Panthers will take on the Penn-Trafford Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Franklin Regional is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Franklin Regional came up short against Plum and fell 7-2. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Franklin Regional saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Mitchell, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Penn-Trafford came tearing into Tuesday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Cavaliers.
Zach Feldman tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brayden Stone, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Drotos, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Penn-Trafford's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Franklin Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Franklin Regional has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Penn-Trafford struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Franklin Regional suffered a grim 10-3 defeat to Penn-Trafford when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
