The Blackstone-Millville Chargers lost against the Douglas Tigers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Blackstone-Millville took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Douglas. Blackstone-Millville has not had much luck with Douglas recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Blackstone-Millville saw an underclassman step up: Karson Cournoyer scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cournoyer has scored all season. Jackson Dunton was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Douglas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adam Dunphy, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Josh Farrell, who scored 16 points.
Blackstone-Millville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Douglas, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
Blackstone-Millville will look to defend their home court on Friday against Whitinsville Christian at 6:30 p.m. Douglas won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Quaboag Regional at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. Quaboag Regional is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
