Baseball Game Preview: Cary Academy Chargers vs. Durham Academy Cavaliers

For the second straight game, Cary Academy will face off against Durham Academy. Cary Academy will host Durham Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Cary Academy will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Durham Academy, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Cary Academy came out on top against Durham Academy by a score of 10-7 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Chargers considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Declan Jack and Noah Prince made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Jack tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Prince struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At the plate, Jack scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Prince got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Everett Cagle was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Zachary Jones, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Cary Academy's win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5. As for Durham Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
