The Early Longhorns will take on the Peaster Greyhounds at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Peaster will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Early extended their winning streak to ten on Friday. The Longhorns were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Millsap.
The team relied heavily on Jamie Vassar, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaime Lyon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Early was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Peaster made easy work of Eastland on Friday and carried off a 16-6 victory.
Averi Muench made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Selah Salmons was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Abigail Wiley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.
Early's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Peaster, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8-1.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Early has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .543. However, it's not like Peaster struggles in that department as they've averaged .481. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Early's way against Peaster in their previous matchup on March 6th, as Early made off with a 13-3 win. Do the Longhorns have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Greyhounds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
