Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Farmington

Farmington had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Brighton Bengals 17-5. Considering the Phoenix have won three matches by more than ten runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Farmington got a massive performance out of Ruby Andrus, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was Andrus' first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jane Frey, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Farmington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .576 or higher in three consecutive games.

Farmington now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Brighton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Farmington will face off against Skyridge at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Farmington is facing Skyridge at the right time seeing as Skyridge is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Brighton, they will square off against Highland at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
