The Licking Heights Hornets will head out on the road to square off against the Pickerington Central Tigers at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Licking Heights made easy work of Bishop Hartley and carried off a 14-2 victory.
Natalie Mahoney was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Mahoney was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Alissa West was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two triples, four RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lily Reich, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.
Licking Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Hartley only posted an OBP of .240.
Meanwhile, Pickerington Central made easy work of Buckeye Valley on Friday and carried off an 11-5 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Samara Williams looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Natalya Lim and Jenna Robinson did most of the damage at the plate: Lim went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Robinson went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was Lim's first of the season. Sophia Kounouzvelis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Licking Heights now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Pickerington Central, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Licking Heights hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .357. However, it's not like Pickerington Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .392. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
