Having struggled with 11 defeats in a row, Polytechnic turned things around against Wyatt on Tuesday. They never let the Chaparrals get on the board and left with a 22-0 victory. That looming 22-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Parrots yet this season.
Dulce Valadez looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, Myranda Guillen was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six stolen bases, and four runs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Bibiana Ramirez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.
Polytechnic lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, North Side was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against Paschal, falling 18-1. The Steers have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Polytechnic's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 3-13. As for North Side, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.
