The Barstow Aztecs lost against the Serrano Diamondbacks back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The game between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Barstow falling 61-44. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for them in their matchups with Serrano: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Barstow had strong showings from Kyron Medlock, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, and Johntae Drisdom, who scored 13 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Medlock scored 15 or more points.
Barstow's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Serrano, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-8.
Barstow and Adelanto will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Adelanto presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Barstow in California (Adelanto is ranked 329th, while Barstow is ranked 1106th). Serrano and Hesperia will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hesperia is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
