The Oakland Wildcats waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They took down Fremont 61-47. Given Oakland's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Fremont is ranked 393rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Isaac Johnson had a dynamite game for Oakland, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Lacy, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds.
Oakland is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for Fremont, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-14.
Oakland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 100-15 win vs. Castlemont on the 9th. Fremont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
