The Redlands East Valley Wildcats had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. They snuck past Redlands with a 65-59 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Redlands East Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeremiah Ivens out in front who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. Ivens is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Darrell Green was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with two steals.
Redlands East Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Redlands, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Redlands East Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cajon at 6:45 p.m. on January 19th. Cajon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 612th, while Redlands East Valley is ranked 290th). As for Redlands, they will head out on the road to take on Citrus Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
