Speedway was the 50-30 winner over Southport when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Even though they lost, Speedway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.
Southport's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryleigh Hamilton, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Hamilton is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassie Mcmasters, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine assists.
Speedway's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-8. As for Southport, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
