Sean Smith Earns League's Top Spot
Starting off the list is Westlake's Sean Smith, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Smith threw for 123 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 68 yards on only six carries. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023.
Westlake dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Lions faces off against Chapel Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Performance from Jacahi Streeter Leads Douglas County over Westlake
Jacahi Streeter produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Douglas County to the win on Friday. Streeter rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

On Friday, Westlake had to settle for second even though Sebastian Wimbush put up the best numbers he has all season. Wimbush wasn't messing around, making 15 total tackles. The matchup was his fourth straight with five or more total tackles.
For the year, Wimbush has averaged 6.5 total tackles per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging one total tackle per game.
