The South Bend Riley Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 38-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mishawaka Marian. South Bend Riley lost against Mishawaka Marian in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 65-14 score last time.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lucy Franko, who scored 5 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Franko is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tory Harmon, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds.
South Bend Riley's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Mishawaka Marian, they pushed their record up to 1-7 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Bend Riley will face off against Glenn at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. As for Mishawaka Marian, they will head out on the road to face off against South Bend Adams at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
