Mount Notre Dame has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season. They really took it to Bellbrook for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-22 win at home. Given Mount Notre Dame's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Bellbrook is ranked 94th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mount Notre Dame's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grace Pitzer led the charge by scoring eight points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Harrison, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Beavercreek sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 36-33 win over Fairmont on Wednesday.
