After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Dighton, Central Christian Academy were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Pawnee Heights by a score of 49-41.
Despite the loss, Pawnee Heights still got an impressive performance from Davin Hamby, who scored 26 points along with 3 steals. Hamby scored a full 63.4% of Pawnee Heights' points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jimmy Gardner, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Central Christian Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Pawnee Heights, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Christian Academy will take on Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pawnee Heights, they will head out on the road to face off against Wheatland-Grinnell at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wheatland-Grinnell comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
