After flying high against the Jupiter Warriors last Wednesday, the American Heritage Stallions came back down to earth. American Heritage was beaten by Somerset Academy - Canyons 64-32 on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for American Heritage in their matchups with Somerset Academy - Canyons: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, American Heritage still got an impressive performance from Skylar Turk, who scored 16 points. That was a full 50% of American Heritage's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Somerset Academy - Canyons' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alana Pinnock, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Alanna Fabrini was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
American Heritage dropped their record down to 7-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American Heritage will take on Saint Andrew's at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Boca Raton Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Boca Raton Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Monday.
