Columbus East had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 8-18  on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They blew past the Edgewood Mustangs 11-1. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Olympians' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Rotert was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  RBI. Those  three  hits gave  him a new career-high.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Logan Warren, who  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with four  RBI and two  doubles. Those  four  RBI gave  him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Eli Tindell, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI and one  run.

 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus East will challenge Bedford North Lawrence at 3:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Edgewood, they will take on West Vigo at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2  runs per game  this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
