The Milan Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 67-44 loss at the hands of Putnam County. While losing is never fun, Milan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 466th, while Putnam County is ranked 101st).
Despite the loss, Milan still got an impressive performance from Ahmet Niasse, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Erick Reyes, who scored four points along with four steals.
Milan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Putnam County, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Milan will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Shelby at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Putnam County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Maysville at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
