It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Hill City Hornets ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They snuck past Cromwell with a 68-64 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Cromwell still got an impressive performance from Brady Dahl, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Dahl's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Nyberg, who scored 16 points.
Hill City pushed their record up to 5-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.6 points per game. As for Cromwell, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Hill City will be playing in front of their home fans against Laporte at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Laporte is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Cromwell, they will head out on the road to face off against Ogilvie at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
