The biggest upset of the week belonged to Norwich Free Academy, who took down 35th ranked Fitch, 34-27.
The Wildcats moved up to 42 from 68 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Eastern Connecticut - Large. Norwich Free Academy was able to make the jump by beating the Falcons 34-27.
Woodstock Academy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Billy Harrington threw for 50 yards and Justin Cutting had 41 yards receiving. On the ground Isaiah Gass chipped in 14 yards. Joe Caponi helped Woodstock Academy's passing attack out by catching one ball for nine yards.
New London's Ackee Barber and Sam Miranda have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Barber has thrown for 429 yards this season, while Miranda, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 10 catches for 147 yards. Eric Stirtan from East Lyme leads the league in rushing with 193 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Fitch takes on the Centaurs. Mike Emery's team is currently in third, while Woodstock Academy is in fourth.
Jemal Davis's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,937 from 7,247. The improvement was the result of 34-27 victory over the Falcons last week.
