The Center Roughriders had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 69-59 victory over Tyler on Friday. The victory was just what Center needed coming off of a 76-47 loss in their prior game.
Leading Center to victory were Emonte (Cash) Cross and Tim Johnson. Cross scored 24 points along with five rebounds, while Johnson scored 19 points along with five steals. The match was Johnson's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis (TJ) Belin, who scored seven points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Center now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Tyler, they bumped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Center will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Chapel Hill at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Tyler will be home for the holidays to greet Hallsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hallsville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tyler in Texas (Hallsville is ranked 362nd, while Tyler is ranked 1088th).
