The Red Hill Salukis fell victim to the Camp Point Central Panthers''s stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Panthers 54-0. While losing is never fun, Red Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 389th, while Camp Point Central is ranked 104th).
Leading Camp Point Central to victory were Drew Paben and Elijah Genenbacher. Paben rushed for 168 yards and a touchdown, while Genenbacher rushed for 128 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries. Paben really tore up the turf during one magnificent 89-yard run. Nate Peters was another key contributor, rushing for 61 yards and a touchdown.
Red Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Camp Point Central, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Red Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Camp Point Central will head out on the road to face off against Calhoun/Brussels at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Calhoun/Brussels is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
