The Oskaloosa Bears lost against the Horton Chargers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Oskaloosa took a hard 64-50 fall against Horton. Oskaloosa has not had much luck with Horton recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Oskaloosa's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trenten VanHoutan, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. VanHoutan scored a full 28% of Oskaloosa's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Bradshaw, who scored six points along with three steals.
Oskaloosa's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Horton, they pushed their record up to 5-0-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Oskaloosa will take on Atchison County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Atchison County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Horton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy.
