Mercer County scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Boyle County, 31-30. At the time, the Rebels were ranked 13th in the state, while the Titans were 54th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Mercer County, who defeated 13th ranked Boyle County, 31-30.
Mercer County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Titans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Drew Davis has thrown for 846 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while Lane Peavler has 27 catches for 725 yards.
An important game coming up in 4A District 5 this week will be when Lexington Catholic takes on Chris Pardue's team. At the moment, the Knights are in second, while the Titans are in third.
The league will see a high scoring game when Lexington Catholic and Mercer County face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Bill Letton's team comes in having scored 40 this season, while the Titans have scored 306. The Knights scored 34 points last week as they topped Russell County.
Lexington Catholic extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Lakers, 34-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Knights.
