Bruce is 0-8 against South Pontotoc since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bruce Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the South Pontotoc Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Bruce will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while South Pontotoc is ranked 47th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 54-18, which was the final score in Bruce's tilt against Calhoun City on Friday. Bruce was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-9.

Meanwhile, South Pontotoc didn't have too much trouble with Baldwyn at home on Tuesday as they won 43-29. The victory was just what South Pontotoc needed coming off of a 54-29 defeat in their prior game.
The last time Bruce won on the road was back last Saturday. Having now lost four straight away matches, they've bumped their record down to 3-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.5 points per game. As for South Pontotoc, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
