The McBee Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the North Central Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
McBee pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Trinity Collegiate 68-63. Even though they lost, McBee's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 51.8 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Nick Morrell, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds. Tyrek Wright was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 6 assists.
Meanwhile, North Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 79-53 defeat at the hands of Lewisville. While losing is never fun, North Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Lewisville is ranked 50th).
The losses dropped McBee to 3-2 and Trinity Collegiate to 3-1.
McBee strolled past North Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 56-41. Does McBee have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
