The Solon Comets will be playing at home against the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Solon waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 53-43 victory over Twinsburg. Given Solon's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Twinsburg is ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Even though Brecksville-Broadview Heights has not done well against Hudson recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Brecksville-Broadview Heights was the clear victor by a 61-36 margin over Hudson. The victory was just what Brecksville-Broadview Heights needed coming off of a 65-40 loss in their prior contest.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Josalyn Hackney, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two blocks, and Jessie Zenir, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hackney has scored all season. Lexi Ganley was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Solon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Solon strolled past Brecksville-Broadview Heights when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 54-37. Will Solon repeat their success, or does Brecksville-Broadview Heights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
