Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school girls basketball. The tradition continues to close out the 2024-25 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Jaliya Davis of
Blue Valley North (Overland Park) is the 2024-25 Kansas MaxPreps Player of the Year. A repeat selection, the 6-foot-2 senior forward led the Mustangs to a 21-4 record and their second Class 6A title in three seasons.
For the season, Davis averaged 25.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 2.1 assists per game. In a 65-39 win over Derby in the title game, she posted 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

Regarded as a top 25 prospect in the Class of 2025 by

Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which is scheduled to be released in April.
