The Union Parish Farmers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Bogalusa Lumberjacks at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Union Parish rose to the challenge on Friday. They breezed by the Pelicans on the road to the tune of 35-6.
Union Parish got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chase Meeking out in front who picked up 145 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Union Parish also got a significant boost from Jy?marion Island, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 92 yards.
Meanwhile, Bogalusa came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Loreauville 28-7. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 20-0.
Their wins bumped Union Parish to 7-4 and Port Allen to 6-5-1.
Everything came up roses for Union Parish against Bogalusa in their previous meeting back in November of 2018 as the squad secured a 50-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Union Parish since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
