The Ridgeline Riverhawks will head out on the road to face off against the West Field Longhorns at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ridgeline is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Ridgeline beat Mountain Crest 10-5.
Ridgeline got a great performance from Avery Lamont as she pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. The dominant performance also gave Lamont a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
At the plate, Anne Wallace was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Ava Hess, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, West Field had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.
Brinklee Hadley was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
In other batting news, West Field got a massive performance out of Kam Bell, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Brylee Leatherwood was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
West Field always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .760. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Ridgeline's record now sits at 10-8. As for West Field, their record is now 9-2.
