The Palmer Ridge Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 57-35 loss at the hands of Air Academy. Palmer Ridge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-13.
When it comes to explaining why Palmer Ridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Delanie Mcmullen. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points. Annaliese Bossinger was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Caitlin Kramer was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and two steals for Air Academy. Kramer hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Flowers, who scored ten points along with six steals and five assists.
Palmer Ridge's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for Air Academy, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.
Palmer Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Cheyenne Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cheyenne Mountain is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home. Air Academy will take on Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lutheran will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Air Academy is ranked tenth).
