Basketball Recap: Sylva Bay Academy Piles Up the Points Against Prentiss Christian

Sylva Bay Academy won the last time they faced Prentiss Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Sylva Bay Academy Saints breezed by the Prentiss Christian Saints to the tune of 56-17. Sylva Bay Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sylva Bay Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reese Shumock, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. That's the most points Shumock has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Livy Shumock, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

Sylva Bay Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Sylva Bay Academy and bumps their season record up to 7-5. As for Prentiss Christian, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sylva Bay Academy will head out to take on Stringer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sylva Bay Academy is facing Stringer at the right time seeing as Stringer is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Prentiss Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Laurel Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th.
