Dudley has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Northeast Guilford Rams at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dudley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully the Rams like a good challenge.
Dudley fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Golden Eagles on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 83-75 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Eagles. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Northeast Guilford had to settle for a 56-54 defeat against the Bison on Friday. Northeast Guilford has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Northeast Guilford's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dennis Fountain, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Aaryn Tate who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayvion Mixon, who scored five points.
Dudley's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Northeast Guilford, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Dudley against the Rams in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 76-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dudley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
