Jackson Okonkwo made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josh Henkel, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. Meanwhile, Oceanside Collegiate Academy got themselves on the board against Battery Creek on Friday, but Battery Creek never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Dolphins with a sharp 14-0 win. The Landsharks haven't had any issues with the Dolphins recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Cade Griffith looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Tanner Fleming was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of James O'Conner, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Oceanside Collegiate Academy pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 16-1.
