It was a good run, but the Viewmont Vikings unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell to Clearfield 47-43. Viewmont was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clearfield apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2020.
Viewmont's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mary Carr, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cayla Stout, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Viewmont's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Clearfield, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Viewmont will take on Roy at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Roy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Friday. As for Clearfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northridge at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Northridge is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
