When it comes to explaining why Harvest Prep Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Leo Cordova. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 56.8% of Harvest Prep Academy's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Academy with Community Partners got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Reymend Hernandez out in front who scored 20 points along with three steals. Hernandez continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Ohzeaya Carson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks.
Harvest Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Academy with Community Partners, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.
Harvest Prep Academy will head out on the road to square off against Skyview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Skyview's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Harvest Prep Academy has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road. Academy with Community Partners won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against BASIS - Mesa at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. BASIS - Mesa is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
