The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Galatia/Thompsonville in their matchups with Pope County: they've now lost four in a row.
Pope County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bella Fasolo out in front who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Fasolo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Maddie Walker, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Galatia/Thompsonville bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Pope County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-1.
Galatia/Thompsonville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for Pope County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gallatin County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Gallatin County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
