The D'Evelyn Jaguars's four-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They really took it to Gunnison for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-34 win at home. With D'Evelyn ahead 52-16 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
It was another big night for Taj Kumar, who scored 22 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of D'Evelyn's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Robelle Abai, who scored 15 points.
D'Evelyn has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 2-4 record. As for Gunnison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. D'Evelyn will stay at home for another game and welcome The Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully The Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday. As for Gunnison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grand Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
