Basketball Recap: Jesus Sanchez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Forestburg over Bryson

Forestburg easily dispatched Non Varsity Tournament Opponent last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Forestburg Longhorns fell just short of the Bryson Cowboys by a score of 52-49 on Friday. The Longhorns were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cowboys apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Forestburg's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jesus Sanchez, who posted 19 points. The matchup was Sanchez's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Kyler Willett was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Forestburg moved to 10-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Bryson, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Forestburg has already played their next game, a 50-28 win against Tournament Opponent on the 14th. As for Bryson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-37 victory against Garner on the 14th.
