Softball Recap: Cooper Has No Trouble Against Conner

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Laurel, Cooper was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Conner Cougars a 13-0 shutout. That looming 13-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Jaguars yet this season.

The result came thanks to Lily Spraker's shutout, as she gave up just three hits.

At the plate, Emory Sullivan was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Grace Cline, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Cooper always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Conner only posted an OBP of .136.

Cooper's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-16. As for Conner, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

Coming up, Cooper will host Dixie Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Conner, they will be playing at home against Non Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
