After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Nashville, Anna-Jonesboro was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Benton Rangers 12-2. Considering the Wildcats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Aaron Sheffer made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.
