St. Francis had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They came out on top against the St. Rose Purple Roses by a score of 71-61. While the Red Raiders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

St. Francis' win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for St. Rose, they moved to 3-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

St. Francis will face off against Syracuse Academy of Science at 1:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for St. Rose, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-61 loss against St. Frances Academy on the 28th.
