Hillsboro has struggled against Civic Memorial recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Hillsboro lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jace Stewart. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That was a full 41.2% of Hillsboro's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Nathan Matoush was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Leading Civic Memorial to victory were August Frankford and Adam Ogden. Frankford dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Ogden scored 21 points along with eight assists and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ogden has scored at least a third of Civic Memorial's points. Another player making a difference was Riley Lamb, who scored eight points.
Hillsboro has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Civic Memorial, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 10-13.
Hillsboro will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Litchfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
