The Centennial Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Spring Valley Grizzlies at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Monday, Centennial faced the Rattlers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Centennial fell just short of the Rattlers by a score of 76-73. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, Spring Valley pushed their score all the way to 57 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 72-57 fall against Silverado.
Spring Valley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Angelo Imperial, who scored seven points along with five assists and three steals, and Jamo Mccall who scored 17 points. Imperial has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordon Cosby, who scored ten points.
Centennial now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Spring Valley, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Centennial took their victory against the Grizzlies in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 70-45. Does Centennial have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
