Plainville may have come out ahead in their last contest, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. They will challenge Phillipsburg on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Plainville are the clear underdogs, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one.
Plainville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener last Friday. They captured a comfortable 31-14 win over Norton. Junior Jordan Finnesy and junior Cody Crawford were among the main playmakers for Plainville as the former picked up 88 yards on the ground and threw 3 TDs and the latter caught passes for 175 yards and 3 touchdowns. In fact, with 9 tackles Finnesy was a force on both sides of the ball.
Phillipsburg had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They steamrollered Ellis 52-12. With Phillipsburg ahead 37-6, the match was all but decided by halftime.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-0. While both teams are coming in off of wins, only one will triumph this week. Who will it be ? Check back in with MaxPreps after the game is over for details.
